Good Morning 5th Grade Families,
What a beautiful last day of October. The annual PS 64 Halloween Parade was a great success. It was nice to see so many families join us. Thank you to Ms. Smith and Mr. Michlin for the wonderful performance and props.
Students completed their 5- week residency with Bike NY this past Tuesday. We are so proud of how far they have come. Almost all of the 5th graders can now ride a bike safely.
In math, we are continuing working on partitioning and labeling fractional parts and identifying the relationship between fractions and division. We have attached some useful resources that you can use to help us support your child in math.
The Unit Launch: Family Support video for Grade 5, Unit 2 provides the background a family could need to support student learning throughout this unit. The Family Support video includes prior learning, vocabulary explanations, math in pictures, and an easy-to-implement activity all designed to help families and caregivers successfully support their student with math learning at home.
