Good Morning Families,
On Tuesday, December 3, we will be going to the Brandt Foundation on 6th Street. We will be exploring the artist, Kenny Scharf, and the many different painting styles. The goal is to show the students the many ways they can explore and create art. If they have not given you the permission slip, please check their backpacks. We need them back ASAP. If you are interested in chaperoning the trip, please let us know.
The Middle School application is officially open. If you haven't done so, please start researching middle schools both in and out of the district. You are allowed to schedule tours to visit the schools. You can start applying to middle schools. The deadline for applying to middle school is December 20, 2024. If you have any questions or concerns about the middle school process, please reach out to either one of us or Ms. Sydney, our guidance counselor, and we would be happy to help.
If your child is going to be absent, please email us and Ms. Mary, our parent coordinator to let us know.

Good Morning 5th Grade Families,
Our EL Module 1 Celebration is Monday, November 18th at 9:15am. We will be showcasing student work in both literacy and art from the unit. We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate all their hard work.
On Wednesday, we will be going to the Natural History Museum to learn more about our next EL module: Biodiversity in the Rainforest. A permission slip went home on Wednesday. Please return it to us as soon as possible. We will be eating lunch there and have ordered some bag lunches just in case your child does not bring a lunch that day.
If you have yet to schedule an appointment with us for Parent Teacher Conferences, please email or call the school to set up an appointment. Please remind your child that they should respect the adults in the building, following the classroom and school rules, keeping their hands to themselves, and completing homework each night.
We had our first Unit 2 mid unit assessment today. Please ask your child about. We have attached some useful resources that you can use to help us support your child with the fractions unit math.

The Unit Launch: Family Support video for Grade 5, Unit 2 provides the background a family could need to support student learning throughout this unit.
