Good Morning 5th Grade Families,
It was wonderful seeing so many of you yesterday for the Back-to-School night. If you were unable to attend yesterday's meeting, we sent home a hard copy of the slide show presentation and have also attached a copy to this email. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We had a busy week. Students became familiar with the routines and rules of 5th grade and officially signed the class contract. We started our EL curriculum this week and students had their first Art classes this week. They also took their first Spelling test.
Here are some upcoming announcements for next week:

We will be launching Math and Science on Monday.

5th graders will be starting Music on Monday so please be sure they are on time (8:25am) because Music class is first period.

Rosie's Theater Kids starts on Friday.

The Educational Alliance after school program starts on Monday. If you did not return your application, please return it to us or Mr. Johnale as soon as possible.

Dismissal will still be in 5th street cul-de-sac at 2:40pm for those students not attending the Educational Alliance afterschool program. If your child is walking home alone, please send in or email us a note.

If we did not receive your media consent form, either on paper or via the NYC schools account, please return them on Monday. We put paper copies in your child's folder.

If your child is going to be absent, please email us and Ms. Mary, our parent coordinator to let us know.

Reading is crucial to your child's success. Please make sure they are reading each night and continue to fill out the reading log.
